Community Resource Worker
Helping Spirit Lodge Society is a family and community oriented Society that works in partnership with parents/caregivers.  The Community Resource Worker will work under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator for Reclaiming Our Spirit.  She will be a resource person providing information on services in the community.  The Community Resource Worker will collaborate with Vancouver aboriginal Council to build on the resources in the community.  Confidentiality is an absolute must with respect to the parents and children whom the programs service.

Experience

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience.
• At least two years experience in providing peer counselling for women and their children
• Must have knowledge of service provider resources within the community.
• Must work independently and as part of a team
• Experience working with women who have been victims of family violence.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal history, traditions and community resources.
• Criminal Record Check mandatory
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Facilitation of workshops an asset
• Valid driver’s license (class 4) an asset
• Current First Aid certificate
